The NFL just wrapped up Week 6, and it’s safe to say that anything can happen in this league.
Rookie Quarterback Dak Prescott continues to shine for the Dallas Cowboys, throwing three touchdown passes and 247 total yards. Prescott put up some great numbers all while out playing the great Aaron Rodgers on his home turf at Lambeau Field. He led the monster 75 yard drive down the field to put the Cowboys up 18 in the fourth quarter that pretty much sealed the win. The final score was 30-16. Prescott has been the bright spot in Dallas’ surprising 5-1 start. The Cowboys have a bye in Week 7, and will face the Philadelphia Eagles in a clash on Sunday Night Football on NBC. The biggest question for this squad is what will happen when it’s time for Tony Romo to return?

Another big Week 6 game was the Atlanta Falcons traveling all the way to Seattle to take on the perennial NFC West contender Seattle Seahawks in front of a raucous 12th man crowd. I was able to catch that game. It was a game filled with momentum swings, and it ultimately came down to the final drive for Atlanta. With 1:39 left on the clock, it was fourth-and-10 from the Falcons’ 25-yard line, and Matt Ryan tried to hit superstar wide receiver Julio Jones near the middle of the field. You can see Jones trying to time his jump and reach for the ball with two hands, but he was only able to reach using one, because it appeared Seattle Seahawks star cornerback, Richard Sherman, grabbed his right arm, which prevented Jones from having a great look at the catch. No pass interference call was made, and that ended Atlanta’s hopes of pulling out a hard-fought win in Seattle. Seattle won 26-24.
In an AFC South match up, the Houston Texans rallied from down in the second half to defeat the Indianapolis Colts in overtime. Texans fans booing quarterback Brock Osweiler, and many were seen leaving the stadium well before the game was over. Osweiler and the Texans were able to turn things around late in the final 5:17 of the game to tie the score at 23 on two touchdown drives (75 yards, and 53 yards) and force overtime. In overtime, the game came down to sudden death, and Osweiler set up the game winning field goal by making a great pass to wide receiver Jaelen Strong for 36 yards. Kicker Nick Novak made the game winning field goal to seal the victory (26-23) and first place in the AFC South.
