LeBron James brought back his headband and his aggressiveness to lead Cleveland to a 106-91 win over the Chicago Bulls to even the Eastern Conference Semifinal Series at one game apiece.
LeBron James’ headband has made an appearance in the Cavs’ 2015 playoff run. After the much talked about absence of James’ headband throughout the playoffs, he decided to make a game-time decision, and sport his signature headband. It was a change that brought upon an even more aggressive LeBron in leading the Cavs to a 106-91 Game 2 win to even the series with the Chicago Bulls at one game apiece.
The first quarter really dictated the outcome of this game. As I was watching the first quarter unfold, I believed the Cavs were going to run away and dominate the rest of the way. The Cavs jumped out to a 13-2 lead and didn’t look back in routing the Bulls with their largest lead being up 25. Being without Kevin Love (shoulder surgery) for the rest of the playoffs, and not having J.R. Smith (2 game suspension) for the first two games of this series, James had to shift his game some to account for his teammates’ absences. That shift in his mindset helped carry him to 33 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists on the night, and even more important, the Game 2 win. When speaking to reporters about the change in his game from Game 1, LeBron candidly said,
“Kyrie wanted me to be ultra-aggressive, which I’m not that accustomed to doing. … But I had to respond. …Even more aggressive than my usual self, and I was happy I was able to make a couple of plays to help our team win tonight.”

Kyrie Irving scored 21 points, and the Cavs got boosts from both Iman Shumpert and James Jones who scored 15 and 17 points respectively. Shumpert’s early 3 pointers helped Cleveland jump out to a big first quarter lead in the opening few minutes of the game.
As for the Bulls, they go back to Chicago knowing they were able to steal one game in Cleveland, and now they have home court advantage. Jimmy Butler led the Bulls in scoring with 18 points. Even though Derrick Rose struggled from the field (6 for 20 FG, 30%), he had a good floor game with a double double of 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Here are some highlights from the game. You can catch Game 3 of this Eastern Conference Semifinal best of 7 series Friday night at 8 PM ET on ESPN.
